Zoo Snooze Take a step away from the ordinary and jump into the newest adventure at the Santa Barbara Zoo! Our program runs every Friday and Saturday night from September to the beginning of June, 6:30 p.m. to 10:15 a.m. You get to decide if the whole group sleeps in a heated classroom or, for the more adventurous type, camps near the lions at Cabrillo Lawn. Zoo Snooze includes: Our sleepover program emphasizes the different ways the Santa Barbara Zoo focuses on conservation, from the exotic to the local animals. Instructors will lead the group through fun experiments and activities to investigate animal adaptations and different skills necessary to study animals. Activities include a night walk, making behavioral enrichment bags for the animals, up close education animal encounters, special behind-the-scenes experience, and special time with a zookeeper. This experience is designed to cater to your group's wishes, so they get to decide what animal we'll focus on, whether it's Herbivores (elephants or gorillas) or Creepy Crawlies (snakes, lizards, frogs). We will also provide a group photo and lots of other fun surprises. Space in the classroom is limited, so there is a maximum of 25 participants. If you decide to camp out, there is a maximum of 50 participants. For either option, a minimum of 15 people (any combination of children and adults)is required. Cost: $60 per person ($50 per person December - February). In addition, for every paid 15 children you receive 3 free adult chaperones, and if there are 20 children, you receive 4 free adult chaperones. For more information, or to book a Snooze, please call Nikkia Pannell (805) 962-5339, ext. 47 or email us.
