All Santa Barbara Zoo Memberships are non-transferable; therefore, they only cover the people listed on the card. If you would like to bring a guest with you, admission needs to be paid for them unless they are Members. You may also consider upgrading to one of our Donor Club or Donor Circle Memberships, which allow you to bring a specified number of guests with you at no additional charge during regular Zoo hours.

3. What is a kidkeeper? Can my kidkeeper come with me?
A kidkeeper enables 1 adult to bring your children when both cardholders are unable to come. If either cardholder is present, then the kidkeeper is considered a guest and will need to pay admission or enter as one of the guests on a Membership at the Supporting level or higher.
4. Is my Membership fee tax-deductible?
All Memberships are tax-deductible to the extent provided by law.
5. Can I use my Membership at --- Zoo? Why is --- Zoo not reciprocal with the Santa Barbara Zoo?
The Santa Barbara Zoo reciprocal list is comprised of AZA institutions that agree to be part of the reciprocal program as well as a few other AZA institutions that have requested to reciprocate with us. Although a particular zoo may be on the list, the policies regarding admission may differ from those at the Santa Barbara Zoo. Additionally, those policies are subject to change without prior notice.
Reciprocity only applies to regular admission. All other benefits are specific to the particular zoo where the membership was actually purchased. In a few instances, a zoo that is free to the general public may extend an alternate benefit to reciprocal members who present a current membership card and picture ID.
6. Do you have a single parent Membership option?
Our Individual Plus membership covers 2 specified people (1 adult and his or her dependent child under 18 OR 2 adults in the same household.) For households with more than one child between the ages of 2 and 18, a Family membership may be purchased.
7. What happens if I lose my card?
A duplicate card may be purchased for $2.00. This can be purchased at the Membership Window at the Zoo or over the phone with a credit card.
8. Can I purchase a Membership for my daycare/business?
All of our memberships are household memberships and are non-transferable. A discounted weekday visit may be scheduled 2 weeks or more in advance for groups of 10 or more. Please contact the Zoo at (805) 962-5339 to request a reservation form.
9. Can I purchase a Membership online?
Yes, click here to join online. You may also download our Membership application form and fax or mail it to us, or call (805) 962-5339 to purchase a Membership via phone (credit cards only).
10. Do you offer any Membership discounts?
From time to time we offer discounts for new Members. If an existing Member renews before his or her Membership actually expires, a $5 discount may be given. The new expiration date will be one year from the current expiration date. Discounts are not valid with any other offers.
