Masai giraffes used to live throughout Africa, but due to deforestation they now live mostly on the savannahs of East Africa. They are the largest land mammals and eat leaves, bark and twigs from the tops of trees so they don’t have to compete with smaller animals for food.

They have long, muscular tongues that fit between tall thorns to pull leaves out safely. Enjoy meeting Audrey, Betty Lou, and Sulima up close as you or your loved one hand feed them their favorite biscuit treats!

The Santa Barbara Zoo is proud to welcome a new pair of Asian small-clawed otters! Bob and Jillian are fast swimmers that tuck their legs up tightly and use their strong, tapered tail to cut smoothly through the water. You can celebrate their arrival from the Bronx Zoo for the special price of $50!
