- High school graduate or any equivalent occupation, which provides the required knowledge, skills, and abilities.
- Successful completion of a CA Department of Justice criminal background check is required.
- First Aid and CPR certification preferred.
- Ability to use independent judgment in handling routine as well as emergency situations.
- Ability to oversee and monitor conditions and to promote and exercise safety precautions.
- Ability to interact and communicate with the general public in a courteous and friendly manner.
- Effective verbal and written communication skills. |

We are looking for an extraordinary intern to help fulfill the mission of the Conservation Education Department by creating outstanding experiences that inspire people to save the world!. Intern will assist in coordinating and expanding the adult volunteer program, developing and writing ZooTeen Volunteer curriculum, and supervise Camp Parent Volunteers.
Housing is available.

| Requirements: |
The ideal candidate will have experience in an environmental education setting, experience as a volunteer or managing volunteers, a personal commitment and awareness of the importance of volunteerism, be a positive team player with excellent interpersonal and communication skills in addition to the ability to work independently and multitask. Computer experience must include knowledge of Word, Excel, and Outlook. Successful completion of a Department of Justice background check will be necessary. First Aid and CPR certification are required, as well as proof of a negative TB test.
